Course

There is no improving on the old king's course. It is a certified. flat & fast. double-loop course. It begins & ends at the Beach and passes through the LSU campus, around the LSU lakes & through the shaded lanes of the local land barons. The only problem -random and violent attacks by wild and vicious dogs and boars and some gators. Sorry. no body armor provided

Parking

In the past there have been complaints of individuals parking in the yards of those residents who live near or in the area of the Baton Rouge Beach. In an effort to accommodate those residents, we will operate a shuttle service from the Marriott, 5500 Hilton Ave, and the shopping center at the corner of Acadian Thruway and Perkins Road (AT&T and Juban's , etc). Additionally, for those who do not prefer the shuttle, they can park at the Trinity Episcopal Church located at the corner of Stanford and Morning Glory or the LSU campus and walk to the start. We ask that you please park at the above locations because parking will be extremely limited at Baton Rouge Beach.

Aid

Water, replacement drinks. maybe assorted fruit & more will be on the course if enough of the potentate's subjects can be impressed into royal service. It’s a tossup.

Shirts

If you register before October 15, 2012. you will receive a tech shirt designed by the fabulous folks at Dream Silk Screens in Baton Rouge. If you sign up late, the new despot has a committee of saw-toothed knaves to hunt you down to deliver your freaking shirt. Not a pleasant thought. so sign up early and avoid the pain.

Awards

The knights will give overall & age group awards in both races. Marathon & Half Marathon survivors will receive a medal of the highest quality art work placed on a modern and durable material with the genuine imitation gold leaf border and the comfortable color coordinated tote strap.

Post Race

All runners get food & drink. His highness will send his minions out into the far reaches of his swampy realm to capture & skin enough gators for you to enjoy for the 19th year running -the only post-race food worth having

-ALLIGATOR SAUCE PIQUANT-

Since we lose a few good knaves every year, honor their memory and try a plate!
