Is there a host hotel?

Is there a late check-out at the Marriott Hotel on Saturday December 1, 2012?
Yes. 1 p.m. but please ask for a late check out when checking in.
 
Is there late registration?
Yes. You can register at packet pick-up and the day of the race but you are not guaranteed a shirt, gloves, socks, etc.

No but there is a taxi service available.

When is packet pick-up?
December 6, 2013 from 11a.m-7 p.m. and the morning of the race beginning at 5:45 a.m.

Can I pick up someone else’s packet for them?
Yes, but please bring a copy of identification for that person, i.e. driver’s license, passport
 
Can I change races from the marathon to the half-marathon, or half-marathon to marathon?
Yes but you would have to pay the price difference and notify the individual in charge of registration at the time of packet pick-up. If you go from the marathon to the half-marathon, no refund because your shirt was already ordered!
 
Can I change the size of my shirt at packet pick-up?
We would rather you did not because you may be taking someone else’s shirt away from them. Put down an accurate size when you register to get the right shirt.
 
Is there any food available at packet pick-up?
Yes. The race will provide pizzas, jambalaya, salad, etc.
 
Is there an expo at the race?
Yes.
 
Is there parking at the start/finish for both races?
There is limited parking and it is strongly suggested that you take the shuttles that will run from the Marriott Hotel and Acadian Perkins Village Shopping Center located at the corner of Acadian Thruway and Perkins Road.
 
When will the shuttle buses begin running?
Buses will begin running at approximately 5:15 a.m. from both locations. The buses will run until 6:15 a.m. If you do not make the last bus then you may miss the start
 
Where is the start and finish of the marathon/half-marathon?
At Milton Wampold Park, formerly known as Baton Rouge Beach Park, on Stanford Avenue. See Map
 
Where do I wear my race number?
Make sure that you wear the race number on the front of you so that you can be identified by the photographer and also the timer at the end of the race.
 
Is there a place for bag drop?
Yes at the start of the marathon

Where are the aid stations located?
They are located at approximately 1.5 miles apart See Map
 
Is Powerade offered on the course?
Yes. Probably Mountain Blast and Fruit in addition to water
 
Will Gu be available?
Probably not but there will be candies, oranges, etc
 
Are there portable toilets at the start/finish?
Yes. There should be about 25-30 portable toilets available

Is the marathon/half-marathon course an open course?
Yes it is. You are responsible for your own safety. Although there are approximately 50 people providing traffic control, because it is an open course, you should be alert at all times.
 
Are Ipods, headphones, radios, etc allowed?
Yes but you are responsible for your own safety and it is strongly suggested that the volume is reasonable so that you can hear approaching traffic from behind you or in front of you.
 
Is there a time limit on the marathon? Half-marathon?
There is no time limit on the half-marathon but the marathon is 6 hours.
 
Are walkers allowed?
Yes but only if you can complete the course in six hours.
 
Will there be an early start for marathon runners?
If you should desire to begin the marathon an hour earlier, it is your responsibility to contact the race director by email, or on the evening of packet pick-up, and arrange for an early start. Because it is dark at 6 a.m. you will be responsible for your own safety since there will be no traffic control at that time.
 
Will early starters for the marathon be eligible for awards?
Of course not.
 
What time does the award ceremonies start?
For the half-marathon will be approximately 9:45 a.m. The marathon will begin at approximately at 11:00-11:30.
 
Will shuttles be available back to the hotel and shopping center?
Yes until approximately 1:00-1:30 p.m.
 
Are showers available after the race?
Only if you are a guest at a local hotel. There are no showers at the race site.

Do Half Marathon runners receive a medal ?
Yes, all runners receive medals.
