Q: Do you give refunds if I am injured, bad weather, miss the race, wife had a baby, and etc?

A: We apologize, we do not give refunds once a payment is received.

Q: Is there a host hotel?

A: Yes, Crowne Plaza Executive Center, located on 4728 Constitution Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.

Q: Is there a late check-out at the hotel?

A: Please ask for a late check out when checking in. 

Q: When and where is packet pick-up?

A: Friday 12/02/16, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at host hotel.


Q: Does the hotel provide a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel? 

A: Yes. Please contact the hotel and arrange pickup times. The rate is $10. 

Q: Is packet pick-up available the morning of the race? 

A: Yes. Beginning at 5:45 a.m. 

Q: Can I change races from the marathon to the half-marathon, or half-marathon to marathon?

A: Yes. Payment of the difference to upgrade to a full marathon is required. The individual in charge of registration at the time of packet pick-up must be notified of the change. No refund is offered for changes from a full marathon to a half marathon.

Q: Is there an expo at the race?

A: Yes.

Q: When will the shuttle buses begin running?  

A: Please check back for more information. 

Q: Where is the start and finish of the marathon/half-marathon?  

A: At Milton Wampold Park, formerly known as Baton Rouge Beach Park, on Stanford Avenue. | View Map

Q: Is there a place for bag drop?

A: Yes, at the start of the marathon.

Q: Is Powerade offered on the course?

A: Yes. Probably Mountain Blast and Fruit in addition to water. 

Q: Are there portable toilets at the start/finish?

A: Yes. There are approximately 25-30 portable toilets available.

Q: Are there portable toilets on the course?

Q: Are iPods, headphones, radios, and etc. allowed? 

A: Yes. Runners are responsible for their own safety. It is strongly suggested that a reasonable volume is set so that approaching traffic from ahead or behind can be heard.

Q: Are walkers allowed? 

A: Yes, but only if you can complete the course in six hours. 

Q: Will early starters for the marathon be eligible for awards? 

A: No.

Q: Will shuttles be available back to the hotel and shopping center?

A: Yes, until approximately 1:00-1:30 p.m.

Q: Are showers available after the race? 

A: There are no showers at the race site.

Q: Is the Baton Rouge Beach Marathon a Boston Marathon qualifier?

A: Yes.

Q: If there is bad weather, will the race be canceled?

A: It could possibly be delayed but never canceled.

Q: Is there late registration?

A: Yes. You can register at packet pick-up and the day of the race but you are not guaranteed all race amenities.

Q: Are there restaurants within walking distance of the hotel? 

A: Yes.

Q: Can I pick up someone else’s packet for them?

A: Yes. Please bring a copy of identification for that person (driver’s license, passport, and etc.).

Q: Can I change the size of my shirt at packet pick-up? 

A: No. All shirt sizes are pre-ordered as indicated on registration forms. Exchanging shirt sizes at pick-up will take another runner's shirt size. Please request an accurate shirt size when registering.

Q: Is there any food available at packet pick-up? 

A: Yes. The race will provide pizzas, jambalaya, salad, and etc.

Q: Is there parking at the start/finish for both races? 

A: There is limited parking and it is strongly suggested that you take the shuttles that will run from the hotel and Acadian Perkins Village Shopping Center located at the corner of Acadian Thruway and Perkins Road.

Q: Where do I wear my race number? 

A: Make sure that you wear the race number on the front of you so that you can be identified by the photographer and the timer at the end of the race. 

Q: Where are the aid stations located? 

A: They are located at approximately 1.5 miles apart. | View Map

Q: Will GU Energy Gel be available?

A: No. Candies and fruits will be available.

Q: Is the marathon/half-marathon course an open course? 

A: Yes. There are approximately 50 people providing traffic control. Runners should still be alert at all times and are responsible for their own safety.

Q: Is there a time limit on the marathon? Half-marathon?

A: There is no time limit on the half-marathon but the full marathon is six hours.

Q: Will there be an early start for marathon runners? 

A: If you should desire to begin the marathon an hour earlier, it is your responsibility to contact the race director by email, or on the evening of packet pick-up, and arrange for an early start. Because it is dark at 6 a.m., you will be responsible for your own safety since there will be no traffic control at that time.

Q: What time does the award ceremonies start?

A: For the half marathon will be approximately 9:45 a.m. The full marathon will begin at approximately at 11:00-11:30. 

Q: Do Half Marathon runners receive a medal ?
