Dick Beardsley

Dick Beardsley is a runner, author, and a motivational speaker. He is the only person who has ever run 13 consecutive personal bests in a marathon and is in the Guinness Book of World Records for it.

His competitive running career ended in 1988, however he is still one of the top American distance runners of all time. Dick is best known for his 1982 Boston Marathon 2nd place finish 1 second after Alberto Salazar, as well as winning the first London Marathon in 1981 with a time of 2:11:48.

Created over 20 years ago by The Running Chicken Track Club, the Baton Rouge Beach Marathon has become a city-wide tradition celebrating running and giving back to the community through charities.
